One week until surgery!

I can't believe a week from today I will be getting my surgery! This is unreal! I want to thank everyone who has donated to the go fund me account. I really appreciate it!

Today I am going to make a list of things that you should bring with you to the hospital and during your recovery. This is not everything I will be bringing but just a few for my trip to Atlanta!

1. Pajamas- you will need something comfy so wear while recovering! I would suggest something loose so it does not rub on your incisions.

2. Dress- this one is kind of weird but for the plane ride home I don't want to be wearing pajamas, but I want to be comfortable. Yoga pants is usually my go to item for this, but it will rub on my incisions. So a loose comfy dress is going to be the most appropriate option for the ride home.

3. Socks/ slippers- something to keep your feet warm and so you do not have to walk barefoot on the hospital floors. I know they do give you some at the hospital but I prefer ones from home. They are more comfortable to me.

4. Pillow- your own pillow makes you feel more at home!

5. Stuffed animal- there's nothing better than squeezing a comfy stuffed animal when your in pain! They just make everything better! My mom made me a build-a-bear that has yellow bows and a white cami that has a yellow ribbon attached. She made it as a good luck bear for surgery! I will include a picture at the bottom!

6. Book- I am bringing a book to keep me entertained on the flight and at the hotel during recovery.

7. Toiletries- must bring them to keep up with hygiene! (Toothbrush, hairbrush, etc.)

8. Hair ties- to keep your hair out of your face. I know from past surgeries when I was recovering I wanted my hair out of my face because it got annoying.

Again, these are just a few things I think you should have for your recovery. Thanks again for all the support! Wish me luck!

Two weeks until surgery!

I can't believe there is only two weeks left! I am so excited for this to be over. For readers that do not know what I'm talking about, on June 17th I will be heading to Atlanta, GA for surgery. I will first have a pre-op appointment, and then the surgery the next day, June 18th. I will then stay in Atlanta for 3 days to recover and have a post-op appointment sometime within those 3 days. Dr. Sinervo will be doing my procedure. He is known worldwide for his incredible success rate and a remarkable bed side manor. I feel so lucky to be able to have him perform a surgery on me. Also, we are raising money on a go fund me account which I will link below at the end of this post if you would like to donate!

For the fast few weeks I have been on estrogen to help bring the "hidden endo" to the surface so it's easier to clean out during the operation. It unfortunately comes with some down sides including more pain. Sadly it has been kicking my ass to be blunt with you. I also get terrible heat flashes and nausea and I just get more excited everyday for this surgery. I am so happy that I was able to visit my best friend who I haven't seen in 6 months this past weekend. Luckily I didn't get any pain and was able to do all the activities that we planned. She has been with me since the day I was diagnosed with endometriosis and I couldn't be more thankful to have found a friend like her. She use to come to the hospital to see me and she would come over and watch movies with me even when I had a pain flare up. It is really hard to find friends that understand this illness and can understand when your in pain and can't do anything.

I want to again thank everyone for donations to the go fund me we have raised close to 2,000 dollars! Also, there is still time to donate! Hope everyone is having a great day!
